Members of SWTOR-RP come in many shapes and sizes, and no, I'm not making reference to physicality. Our members comprise of casual users who log in from time to time; forum-dwellers whose main activity is lurking about and posting on the forums; creative-critters who create wiki articles and journal and story entries; and finally we have the lurker. The latter group can be compared to a night owl: they browse the forums and articles on the front page, though they hardly ever make themselves known.
One such individual who falls into the "lurker" category is Sorrik. As a Bounty Hunter on the roleplaying server Lord Ieldis and a member of SWTOR-RP, Sorrik is looking to learn the ways of RP by finding like-minded players and possibly a guild to join. However, if your vocabulary consists only of words such as GTFO, LMFAO, and n00b, look no further. Your kind is not wanted here. You're either too young to understand the concepts of RP and probably don't know what I mean when I say, "You are what you eat," or you just never hit puberty and still think that the Easter Bunny actually lays its eggs. For the rest of you (and I hope by that I mean all of you), continue reading as we get to know Sorrik in this Member Spotlight.

Photo property of Foxberry StudiosOur very own Foxberry has been selected by AlmostNerdy.com as the Cosplayer of the Week! Cosplay (short for costume play) is a popular event at many conventions. It involves someone dressing in costume to represent an idea or a specific character. An example of this in the Star Wars realm is the 501st Legion: Vader's Fist. Foxberry first entered the cosplay scene in April 2009, with her first major character portrayal being Reno from Final Fantasy VII. Here's what she had to say: "While my first cosplay (Reno; Final Fantasy 7) was entirely thrifted, it did spark the desire to delve further into the cosplay scene. However it was my closest friend, Gwen, and my Mother who were the biggest factors that made me want to make my costumes. Gwen introduced me to cosplay roughly four or five years back and my Mother is a seamstress and used to make beautiful costumes for my siblings and myself for Halloween. While I do contribute my desire to create costumes from my best friend and my mother, I will also say it’s because of the community. Seeing such beautiful costumes also motivates me, just as much as my personal desires as an artist to create." - From AlmostNerdy interview Not only does Foxberry produce some amazing costumes (just look at that Link at the start of the article) but she's a photographer as well, aiming to enter into the commercial photography market. Foxberry is also the creator and administrator for the Bay Area Conventions fanpages. So hats off to Foxberry, and we hope to see more of your excellent costumes in the future!

Community sites are driven to success by one major contributing factor. You have three guesses. No, it is not hiring a group of Jawas to run the site. And no, it is not by employing an army of Gungan soldiers as forum moderators—though that could be fun, right? Did you say "member support and growth?" Ding ding ding! We have a winner folks!
SWTOR-RP has been blessed with a supportive community and ever-growing member numbers. Each day, players from The Old Republic seek a virtual home away from home in this hub for roleplayers, connecting with others to form new relationships, create new stories, and to make their roleplaying and gaming experience as pleasant and adventurous as possible.
Without the support from our members, we'd flutter into a pointless non-existence. And to express our gratitude, members are randomly chosen to participate in the member-alternative to the Guild and Staff Spotlight feature: the SWTOR-RP Member Spotlight! To qualify, just be sure to remain active on the site, and watch your private message box.
This time around, Tiali takes to the stage with stories of her roleplaying endeavours as an information broker in The Old Republic. What does it take to buy and sell information on other player characters? Let's find out!

Of all the species in the Star Wars universe, the Chiss could be said to be one of the most disciplined and artistic when compared to other humanoid variants. Their blue skin and deep red eyes portrays a sense of hardiness, and it is safe to say that all Chiss are of fine physical conditioning. They're calculated, yet still mysterious as they hide away in the Unknown Regions, away from the rest of civilisation. And when you combine their physical, social and mental traits with the abilities of The Old Republic's Bounty Hunter class, you end up with one deadly individual. Gallum, one of our members at SWTOR-RP, has taken on the role of a Chiss-Bounty Hunter combo, and he offers himself to assassination contracts of any difficulty.
Gallum took the time to participate in SWTOR-RP's Member Spotlight feature, answering questions about his character, his guild, and what his plans are for roleplay in The Old Republic. Read on to see what he had to say. You might just end up using him for player contracts. But no Bounty Hunter works for free.

To immerse oneself into the life of an Imperial Intelligence Agent in The Old Republic is a popular choice amongst roleplayers. The character trait and personality possibilities vary, and let's face it, who doesn't want to roleplay the life of a Star Warsy James Bond or Jason Bourne? However, the problem with Imperial Agent characters is that they're not usually the typical heroine types that we see in the movies. Rather, they're much to the contrary. They're typically your top secret evil villain that just so happens to always be a step ahead of you. This, unfortunately, may be the case for characters aligned with the Republic. And how do we get inside their heads to figure out their next move? We may have just made that easier for you. SWTOR-RP recently interviewed one its members who fits the bill of an Imperial Intelligence Agent. She may not be your choice for a BFF, but if you're seeking a Field Agent to do your Imperial dirty work, Minxsys may be the gal for you. Read all about her and the person behind the character in this Member Spotlight.

Not all Sith are evil. At least, the person behind the character driven mad by anger and the lust for power is not such a person. As roleplayers, we like to think that a hint of our personalities are injected into the characters we create for MMOs such as The Old Republic. Whether you're a straighty-one-eighty, headed down the straight and narrow path of the light side, or if you're anger is all that gives you strength through the dark side of the Force, some of you will make it to the psychological make-up of your character. You might just find that as evil as you'd like your character to be, you just don't have it in you to kill that innocent bystander just for the satisfaction of it. Amaris -- one of our members here at SWTOR-RP -- is one such person. A member of the Hands of Darkness, and a lurker at best at SWTOR-RP, Amaris features in our second ever Member Spotlight.

Every community site for The Old Republic is dependent on one thing, requiring it to survive, much like what fuel is for vehicles or power sources are for computers. Without it, there would be no reason to exist and the site would be a failure. Of course, we're talking about the member base that provides a community site with life, with fuel, with a reason to continue improving the site's features and functions. Here at SWTOR-RP, we're driven to provide roleplayers who plan to venture into BioWare's fantasy world, The Old Republic, with an experience like none other. Our members are important to us, as this site was built for your use. Without you, where would we be?
After a recent announcement, followers of our site would know that we've been planning to begin spotlighting some of our members. Chosen completely at random, members will be given the opportunity to participate in a feature, similar to that of a Guild Spotlight, where we get to learn more about you as a person, as well as getting to know what your plans are for The Old Republic. This is our way of expressing our gratitude to our members. This is your feature, your moment. We hope to be able to spotlight as many of you as possible. You're all an important part of this site, so thank you.
For our first Member Spotlight, the wheel has landed on a member who has been with us for some time. He has previously written a feature for the site, Tolkien and Star Wars, Best Friends Forever, and is an active member on the site with some interesting plans for The Old Republic once it launches. DoctorComics takes to the stage to tell us all about his life as an English Professor, an author, and a die hard fan of Juhani from Knights of the Old Republic. Check out the interview below.

Here at SWTOR-RP, the staff are driven to deliver the best possible experience to the roleplayers of The Old Republic. We strive to provide the latest news about the game, assist newcomers to both roleplay in itself and the game, as well as launching a number of resources, such as the upcoming wiki, to help with the immersion of the characters created by our members. The staff here sacrifice their time to do just that. Like the wiki, we've got a number of other new features coming your way. Member Spotlights will be starting up soon, where we give our members the opportunity to let the rest of the roleplaying community know who they are, and what their intentions are for The Old Republic. It also allows us to give back to the community to say thank you, because without you, we'd cease to exist.
There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to make sure we keep the content pumping. But just who are these people behind the site? With the launch of another new feature to SWTOR-RP, we go behind the scenes to get to know the staff and their deepest darkest secrets! Well, not really, but we'll try to crack them to reveal something naughty. This is an opportunity for our community members to get to know the staff of the site. Each staff member, whether they're a Reporter, Guide, Community Manager, or Wiki Editor, they will have to submit to questioning. So here we are with the first Staff Spotlight, presenting one of SWTOR-RP's Reporters and Guide Coordinator, Sebaya Keto.

It is no secret that here at SWTOR-RP, we have a wealth of talent. Everyday our member numbers grow with roleplayers flocking to the site to get their characters and guilds for The Old Republic under the spotlight. The guild listing continually grows, as do the number of journal and story entries posted on our forums. Slowly, we're getting to learn the traits and personalities of the characters we'll be interacting with in BioWare's upcoming Star Wars MMO. Members from both sides of the war -- the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire -- are beginning to make acquaintances, and story arcs between players and their characters will inevitably flourish. The question stands though -- who are the people behind the characters?
Followers of SWTOR-RP will have familiarised themselves with our Guild Spotlights. Each month, we take a guild from our long list and toss them under the spotlight, conducting an interview with its leader and publishing the results on our front page for all the world to see. It is now time to extend the feature to our members. Introducing the SWTOR-RP Member Spotlights! Chosen at random, one of our members registered with the site will be given the opportunity to share their personal stories with the community, as well as explaining his or her motivations and ideas for the game. It is an opportunity for the staff of the site to appreciate our community and what the members of our site have to offer.
For the first couple of Member Spotlights, we'll be running a contest to decide on who will be chosen to kick start the new feature. If you're not aware of it, we have a Twitter and Facebook page for our site. To participate in the contest, head on over to our social pages and follow us for the chance to be chosen in our first Member Spotlights. A follower from one of our social sites will be chosen for the feature, so get yourselves on that list. Be sure to keep an eye out for our forum announcement with additional information. Hopefully, we'll see one of you under the spotlight soon!
