Citizens of the Galactic Republic. This is an emergency broadcast update.
The Rakghoul plague continues to spread. More and more individuals are becoming infected by this epidemic which started about four days ago with reports of the plague showing up across the towns and outposts of Tatooine.
The Health and Safety Council are yet to address the public with an explanation of how the outbreak occurred.
In the meantime, the Council have made recommendations on how to deal with those infected by the plague. A representative made the following announcement earlier today:
"Currently, there is no cure for the Rakghoul plague. It is with great sorrow that we've determined that anyone who shows complete mutation as a result of the plague should be subject to lethal force. Military forces are assisting us in this matter.
Our number one goal is to prevent a further outbreak of the disease. It is for this reason that we've made this determination. We will continue working towards a solution to the matter, as well as discovering the reason for the outbreak."
Republic military representatives have been stationed in major cities and outposts across infected areas. If you have fears of an outbreak in your area, contact them immediately.
Stay tuned for further updates.

Attention citizens of the Republic. This is a CBNS emergency broadcast.
A rakghoul epidemic is spreading. The Interstellar Travel Council has placed a level 1 emergency alert for the planet Tatooine. Information is still coming in, though it is being reported that Tatooine has been infected with the rakghoul plague. All citizens who are currently on Tatooine are being advised to take precautionary measures.
Additionally, anyone not on Tatooine is urged to avoid the planet at all costs while governments and officials continue to monitor and examine the situation.
Reports indicate that that plague is also spreading to Tatooine's neighbouring systems. All citizens should take extreme caution.
Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.

The sands of Tatooine which glimmer and shine under the hopeful Twin Suns have been stained by violence and corruption. Terror rocks the streets of Anchorhead and its surrounding outposts as the likes of the Czerka Corporation, the Mandalorians, and the Twin Suns spread their chaos amongst the neutral inhabitants of Tatooine. Without the full backing and aid of the Galactic Republic, the citizens are left to fend for themselves. Though not all hope is lost as mercenaries and lone representatives of the galaxy's mega factions swoop in to restore a sense of peace.
Reports from Republic sources have revealed a Czerka-run project with a multi-billion dollar financial backing. Despite being abandoned decades ago, the project is subject to reclamation by Czerka, contrary to the intentions of local authorities, as well as the Republic and Sith Empire. Though Czerka may have the resources to run such an expensive project, the fact that they have refused to elaborate on the project and the reasons for their renewed interest has raised suspicion with the locals and media.

As an independent organisation, the Hutt Cartel runs its operations on worlds which have seceded from the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire's control. The Cartel is a syndicate of a number of different Hutt clans spread throughout worlds which they've laid claim to, including their homeworld of Hutta, and the crown jewel of the underworld: Nar Shaddaa.
Though the Hutt Cartel may be a chain of clan alliances, their access to an almost unlimited supply of resources and credits causes rifts and feuds which, once settled, leaves traces of blood, deception, and greed splattered across the Hutt-controlled worlds.
Turf wars and personal vendettas are no small feat of the Hutt Cartel. The streets of Nar Shaddaa and Hutta are filled with gangsters and mobsters who are subject to territorial engagements, assassination attempts, theft, and black market deals.
Sources have revealed that the rivalry between Nem'ro the Hutt and Fa'athra the Hutt are evidently to blame for the bloodshed which, still to this day, takes place in the streets of Hutta.
Citizens are encouraged to avoid any business dealings on Hutta which is reportedly the heart of an ongoing battle for power and control.

Moments ago, a team of Republic heroes were dispatched to reclaim the Republic Warship Allusis. Reports indicate that a group of rogue Mandalorians under the clan name Varad stole the Allusis whilst it was docked at the Fondor shipyards for refits.
Clan Varad used the vessel to raid Outer Rim systems, defenceless against the destructive capabilities of the Allusis. Evidence is scattered of shattered and broken worlds at the hands of the rogue Mandalorian group.
Satele Shan, Grand Master of the Jedi Order, is said to have led an assault fleet to allow the Republic strike team to board the vessel. However, it is now known that the Sith Empire have sent a team of their own to take the vessel for themselves.
The fate of the Allusis is currently unknown. Republic officials have refused to comment on the status of the vessel and the Republic strike team.
Upon returning to Coruscant, Grand Master Shan briefly addressed the public. "Allusis was a great Jedi who sacrificed himself at the Battle of Bothawui. The Republic honours his memory, but the Mandalorians are disgracing it."
Grand Master Shan refused to comment further.

The profitable exchange of living beings is once again running rampant amongst the industries on Nar Shaddaa. Humans, Twi'leks, and any other beings capable of serving a master are susceptible to losing all their free will and succumbing to a life of slavery.
Slave trading is not a secret industry. It has been operating since the birth of the Galactic Republic, predominantly on independent worlds controlled by the Hutts. Though the Republic condemns all activity of trading slaves, the Sith Empire's presence on worlds like Nar Shaddaa has given the industry and its operators a rapid boost.
The ubiquitous industry extends to worlds such as Tatooine and Hutta. However, independent research indicates that the Hutt Cartel and the Nar Shaddaa Labor Alliance have established Nar Shaddaa as the capital of slave trading.
"Nar Shaddaa is a neutral planet," says the Chief of The Promenade's local authority. "The planet is controlled by the Hutts, not the Republic, nor the Sith Empire. Therefore, we are not bound by their laws."
Reports indicate that businessmen display living property for inspection. In addition, they provide security-controlled transport, as well as short and long term carbonite storage services.

Nar Shaddaa: a bustling planet-wide city of bright lights and personalities. From afar, the planet's shining beacons and illuminated skyscrapers cause invitation of hope and opportunity. But like most planets in the galaxy, Nar Shaddaa has fallen victim to ongoing stress of imminent conflict between the galaxy's super-powers. The Republic and Sith Empire continue their fued—despite the fragile peace treaty—which brings upon the dire need of the galaxy's inhabitants to seek their own means of survival during troubled times.
Reports from Nar Shaddaa have revealed industries driven by espionage, illicit technical enhancements, and access to confidential personal information. Recent events on Nar Shaddaa indicate that the data slicing industry is booming, with certain corporations and organisations making unprecedented profits by utilising expert slicers.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that military organisations have also adopted the use of slicers to assist in their operations.
The Republic military has yet to comment on the recent development.
Those with personal information stored on Holo-terminals are urged to ensure their system's security is at a substantial level and up to date to prevent any illegal access. Local authorities are encouraging individuals to report any suspicious activity amongst their personal accounts.

Though the peace treaty between the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire remains in tact, it is no secret that many worlds are still engulfed in conflict. Ord Mantell, Alderaan, and Coruscant hold mini-pits of war between the two mega factions of our galaxy, and the military services are stretched thin to maintain peace and order. However, recent reports from Ord Mantell and Quesh have revealed that since the Great War, the military have been utilising means other than food and water to keep their troops on the go—military adrenals are being manufactured and shipped to military outposts around the galaxy in an effort to keep soldiers fit and healthy.
"The adrenals are safe," states a Captain of the Republic Military. "They're non-addictive stimulants which enhances a soldier's endurance, stamina and reflexes. Usage of these adrenals are maintained across the board to limit adrenal abuse."
Despite the military's efforts to ensure that dosage amounts are kept in check, there have been instances where soldier's have relied too heavily on the adrenals, causing their bodies to become overstressed. Additionally, theft of these adrenals have increased, and stocks have begun appearing in the black market.

Earlier today, A Republic warship named Brentaal Star escaped a skirmish in Imperial Space. It is unknown what ignited the space battle, though reports indicate that the Thranta-class starship contained valuable information. Upon leaving Imperial Space, the Brentaal Star was intercepted by another Imperial Vessel, a Gage-class destroyer called the Black Talon. Yet again, another space battle erupted, and we can only conclude that it was in the Empire's interest to either capture or destroy the Republic starship and its valuable contents.
Satele Shan, Grand Master of the Jedi Order, commanded a fleet of 16 Republic destroyers to intercept the Brentaal Star to ensure the safety of its crew and cargo from the Empire's grasp. Sources have revealed that the Grand Master made contact with the Black Talon in order to uphold the peace treaty between the two factions. However, the Empire was quick to shut down the Jedi's peaceful efforts. And who would be responsible for such oppressive behavior by ordering the attack on the Brentaal Star? The Butcher of Coruscant: Grand Moff Kilran.
Upon returning to Republic space, the crew of the Brentaal Star refused to comment on the result of the battle, but we did learn that among the casualties were Jedi Yadira Ban and Commander Ghulil. What the valuable contents consisted of and its fate are unknown, though Grand Master Shan commented on the battle. "The peace between the Republic and Empire is fragile enough already." She further stated, "Incidents like this are happening across the galaxy, and only because we let them."
What this means for the peace between the Republic and Empire remains a mystery, but CBNS will continue to provide you with the latest breaking news updates.

Have you ever wondered what living an eternal life would be like? Just ask a Sarlacc. Xenobiologists on Tatooine report that Sarlaccs are said to live between 20,000 to 50,000 standard galactic years. But I wouldn't be getting too close to these creatures, as they could quite easily sweep you up with their long tentacles and consume you as a snack, digesting you for over a decade. If you are taking a stroll through the sandy hills of Tatooine, you may just come across this living and breathing semi-sentient pit.
"Victims of the Sarlacc could quite possibly live for some weeks or months," Dr. Fern, a Xenobiologist currently studying Tatooine's sentient species, explains. "Their stomach acids preserve their victims and keep them fresh. However, eventually the victim will succumb to the Sarlacc's long digestive system, which will break down its food over a decade or so."
Research reveals that these creatures are very rare. They bury themselves underground with a pit-like opening on the surface. The creature's long tendrils allow it to snap up prey that linger around the pit's edges. Conventional weapons will not affect the Sarlacc. "It'll take some substantially heavy ordinance dropped directly into the pit to have even the slightest effect. Even then, such efforts may be wasteful," Dr. Fern states.
Keep your eyes peeled and watch your step; don't mistake this creature for a cave opening.
