BioWare recently implemented Game Update 1.1 onto all of the live servers for The Old Republic, introducing a bunch of new features, as well as fixing some old, annoying bugs. Jedi Knights can finally get groovy with Kira Carsen with the recent fix of her companion affection story. However, the update was not the "be all and end all." Game bugs still exist, and there is still plenty of work to be done to appease the needs of the millions of players, including us roleplayers.
For those of you that missed it, BioWare spoke about some of the upcoming features to TOR. The elusive Legacy System is going to be revealed some day soon, and we can only hope that it assists roleplay rather than hinders it. Despite this controversial game feature, recent forum activity is focused on completely unrelated topics. PvP on Ilum and ability delay have been the most talked about topics earning the attention of the developers. Check out some of the latest developer forum posts in your SWTOR-RP Dev Tracker Report below.
Whilst we're on the topic of the official forums, please head on over and check out the official SWTOR-RP thread in the roleplay section. Feel free to show your support for the site by posting in that thread.

Welcome to another edition of the SWTOR-RP Dev Tracker Report. In today's collection of developer posts from the official forum, we've left out majority of the complaints about the games' minor bugs. Most of us are aware of them, and the development team are most likely on top of it. However, we've compiled some of the more interesting posts by the developers that relate to gameplay and – potentially – roleplay. PvPers may have noticed a reduction in healing whilst engaged in PvP combat, and Georg Zoeller comments on that issue. So when you jab a shot of kolto into a fellow Republican or Imperial during PvP, be sure to emote a curse at your medic at their incompetence in healing. Connection to roleplay. Voilà. Also mentioned after the break is the colour unification system, Quesh's difficulty level, the problems that coincide with hitting the level fifty cap too soon, and the 1.0.2 public server patch notes. Enjoy!

With The Old Republic's successful launch now behind us, the official forums have begun to run rampant with queries, complaints, and demands for BioWare's developers to feast their eyes on. Game bugs are being discovered across the many worlds in the game, and at the same time, players are screaming out for new content to be added as a matter of urgency. But which comes first? Should all the games' bugs be quashed, never to return? Or would you prefer the development team focus on implementing additional content to the already massive Star Wars virtual universe? Well, the BioWare developers believe that they can do both, according to on of Stephen Reid's many posts on the official forums. Continue reading below to view Stephen Reid's comments, as well as many others about sitting in chairs, server-specific forums, respec costs, server queues, and more, all in your SWTOR-RP Dev Tracker Report.

With launch for The Old Republic only one month away, fans of BioWare's upcoming Star Wars MMO may have wondered when the big guns of the company would finally lift the non-disclosure agreement on the game's testing builds. All people want to do is talk about the game and share their experiences in the numerous testing phases held over the last few weekends. Fan Sites had to hold their tongues – or bind their fingers, whichever more appropriate – as much as the beta testers. However, an announcement was made over the weekend, revealing the lift of the NDA, allowing all to be revealed! Well, almost everything. There are still aspects of the game that BioWare ask people not to discuss in detail, and that is the major plots of the quests throughout the game. Be sure to head on down to check out the announcement straight from the official forums.
As well as the NDA lift, the forums were also the medium for the reveal of The Old Republic's Legacy System. Just the thought of the system and its details may make some roleplayers cringe. It does not aid roleplayers in any way whatsoever, more so being a hindrance for the possibility of multiple, detached characters per account. Regardless of the fact that the titles that accompany the Legacy System can be hidden completely, some roleplayers question BioWare's abilities in creating systems based on the idea of roleplay, rather than hindering it. Others, however, may take joy as it will allow them to create a big, warm, happy family in a Star Wars universe. If only a hint of sarcasm could be inserted into text. Perhaps that sentence gave it away. Be sure to check out all the details of the Legacy System in the developer posts below.

You may have noticed that the Weekly Dev Tracker didn't make it to air last week. There was one simple reason for it, and that is because there just wasn't anything to report. It appeared as if the BioWare developers lay to temporary rest, leaving the the dev tracker on the official site for The Old Republic lacking any new shiny yellow posts. However, the developers have been back in full swing with a plethora of updates, all in their golden yellow glory.
There have been a number of new tidbits for fans of The Old Republic, consisting of new information on Jedi Consular Force abilities, Imperial Agents in PvP and ability ranges, as well as Georg Zoeller's view on how a Sage would fair up against other melee characters. Above all that, there are two updates which stand out from the rest, and one of which will greatly please the roleplaying community. David Bass, Community Coordinator at BioWare, has officially announced the types of servers that'll be made available to the players of The Old Republic. Additionally, we've finally received some clarification from Senior Writer Alexander Freed about a topic that has been running hot on SWTOR-RP. Do you finally want to know where the Jedi stand in the Republic's military in The Old Republic? Read about that, as well as all the other news below. Enjoy!

Everybody makes mistakes. Even the wonderful minds at BioWare who have pieced together The Old Republic are capable of small, honest mistakes. However, a small and honest mistake whilst promoting one of the most anticipated games of the year doesn't result in a small and honest response on the official forums. In an interview at New York Comic-Con 2011 with Stephen Reid, Senior Online Community Manager for BioWare, he makes mention of an off-tank specification for the Jedi Consular's advanced class, the Shadow, and the Inquisitor's advanced class, the Assassin. Apparently that was wrong. You can view the speculative posts on the forums, as well as the developer responses below in this edition of the Weekly Dev Tracker. Additionally, there is some new information about racial abilities, and the amount of content we may find on Tatooine. Enjoy!

Welcome to another edition of SWTOR-RP's Weekly Dev Tracker Report. Compared to previous weeks, it has been reasonably quiet in the developer post department of late. There have been only a few posts of interest made by the team behind The Old Republic, with last week's focus mainly on companions and item modification. It seems that speculation has run high on the item modification game system. Though this feature is still in testing and details about it's specifics have been kept under wraps, members on the official forums have been discussing the game feature extensively, resulting in a number of posts by the developers to clarify a number of points. If you're after some exclusive information about item modification, you won't find it. We all know how BioWare work when it comes to unannounced features. You can view all of their responses below.

Did you ever wonder what fate Revan and the Jedi Exile succumbed to following the events of the Knights of the Old Republic series? It was announced some time ago that all would be revealed in Drew Karpyshyn's upcoming novel, Revan. However, someone took it upon themselves to post some very revealing information about the novel and it's characters on the official forums, shunning Drew for his decisions in writing. Be warned that there may be some serious spoilers about the novel. Drew's post in response to the thread has been added below. Though he doesn't reveal anything about the content of the novel in his post, if you decide to go hunting for the reason of all the complaints, you are going to come across some revealing information about Revan and the Exile.
In other news, the Weekly Dev Tracker also contains some information about location-specific server restrictions, the reason for ability cooldowns, as well as an extensive post by Georg Zoeller about the philosophy of class design for The Old Republic. Head on below to view the happenings on the dev tracker over the last week.

Welcome to another edition of SWTOR-RP's Weekly Dev Tracker Report. It seems that whilst beta testing continues, we'll never see the end of questions and demands of the developers in relation to beta invites. However, we're going to skip over all that mumbo-jumbo and focus on the good stuff. Over the previous week, there have been a few goodies about in-game mechanics, as well as some news for roleplayers. Followers of our site will have seen a previous article covering the announcement of an PvP-RP server. You'll find some information about that below. Additionally, there is also some information about force pushing enemies in-game and how the environment can add some flavour to the ability, as well as details about male companions, flashpoints, and BioWare's timeline entries. Check out all the noteworthy developer responses below.

It has been another busy week in the BioWare trenches, probably more so than previous weeks. Why? Because we finally have a release date! It has been a long time coming, and the partners at BioWare and LucasArts finally decided to appease the roaring crowd. In this edition of the Weekly Dev Tracker, you'll find a few tidbits about the release date, more talks about beta testing (no surprises there), as well as continued talks about the Marauder advanced class. Some members of the community feel that the Bounty Hunter class hasn't received much love lately, so you'll find something about that amongst the rest of the banter below.
