BioWare has finally released the last of the Character Progression videos – Sith Inquisitor. If you're still hesitant about the class, this is a good peek into what it can do in The Old Republic. Sith Inquisitors are the masters of the dark side of the Force, the polar opposite of the Jedi Consular. Through channeling their emotions, Inquisitors have access to unlimited power, much more then their saber waving cousins.
Do you like lightning? How about close to a dozen different types of it? If that gets you excited then Sith Sorcerer might just be the class for you. In the video we see the Inquisitor use several different types of lightning attacks to stun and kill their foes, ending with the massive AOE Force storm. Although the video doesn't show it, Sorcerers are also the Empire's primary healing class as well. Read on for more.

Surprise! BioWare has dropped another trailer on us for The Old Republic at New York Comic Con. This time, however, instead of cinematic glory, it is entirely done with in-game graphics. When the graphical details of The Old Republic were first released, many were worried about the cartoonish looking graphics shown in the original screenshots. Now is a great chance to see just how far the game has come. The galaxy will look beautiful as it erupts into one of the greatest wars ever seen.
This short trailer gives us a background on where the galaxy stands ten years after the Treaty of Coruscant where The Old Republic starts off. The fragile Cold War, which has marked the last decade, is ending. All the classes are shown preparing to lead their sides into battle as both the Republic and Empire gear up for war. So get ready, finish up your back stories, and prepare for a release that draws ever closer. Read on below to see the video in its entirety, and tell us what you think in the comments section!

Animation,  Author: Sebaya Keto,  BioWare,  Gabe Amatangelo,  PvP,  Q&A,  Star Wars,  Star Wars The Old Republic,  Studio Insider,  SWTOR,  The Old Republic,  TOR,  Video,  Warzone
This week we were in for an interesting sunrise. BioWare has released a new Studio Insider article that details their work in creating the animations for The Old Republic, as well as a Q&A with Lead PvP Designer Gabe Amatangelo. If you haven't seen much on game animation design before, it's definitely an interesting read, especially the video that details the modeling of different attacks and how they evolved. You can find that short snippet at the end of this article.
On the PvP front, we get some hints into what will be coming post-launch. The current warzone and open world PvP system seems to be a familiar topic now, so they focus on coming features such as rankings and dual-spec characters. It seems like the goal is to make PvP class powers more like PvE with taunts and other abilities that will work on opposing players, in addition to making PvP less about slaughter the healer and more about complex tactics.
For an RPer, there may not be as much to it as you might like, but there is dual-spec information and a few other interesting tidbits that still make it worth reading. You can click below to see the animation video or one of the links to go to the full article on the TOR main site.

This is totally not news, but but it is quite funny. The Escapist Magazine -- you may have heard of it because of the irreverent Zero Punctuation video game reviews by British-born Australian Yahtzee Croshaw. Graham Stark and Paul Saunders have a series of videos where they -- not so much review -- commentate on video game trailers called Unskippable.
With the 6 minute video released by BioWare this week, it will be the longest Unskippable episode ever. Watch and listen, listen and watch as the pair have fun with the Return trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
(Yes, Sterling, I know this has nothing to do with roleplay! Catch the video after the break.)

Since we have already reported on the video that the Star Wars: The Old Republic community team gave us for the Friday update, we have decided to give you a little treat. At the same time, we will let the community team off the hook since they have given us a lot of tasty information this week.
After the break you can follow the tale of Darth Malgus from an apprentice at the attack at Korriban, to a Sith Warrior on Alderaan, to a full-fledged Sith Lord at the Sacking of Coruscant. See Satele Shan's growth as a Jedi, and most of all, witness the beginning and the end of the return of the Sith Empire.
Many people have stated that the Blur Studio's trailers could make a movie by themselves. Well, it's only 15 minutes of video footage, but it is a very entertaining 15 minutes. We put this mini-movie together just for you, the roleplayers of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Enjoy.
[Update: We are looking for a place to upload a 1080p version; we will let you know when that's all set.] [Update: HD version is ready and available past the break. Thank you for your patience]

Thanks to our friends at BioWare, those of us not at E3 are able to grab a taste of what it's like to be at the expo. Everyone who visited the EA booth in Los Angeles was able to play Star Wars: The Old Republic by exploring the origin worlds, grouping up for the Taral V Flashpoint, or roaming the sands of Tatooine.
Tatooine has been seen in screenshots, but we really haven't experienced the story on this classic Star Wars world. The Czerka Corporation, which you may remember from Knights of the Old Republic, began an dig on the desert planet, but for some unknown reason stopped. Republic and Imperial forces alike want to find the secrets behind what the Czerka Corporation where working on.
After the break we've given you access to the full 11 minute video walkthrough hosted by Dallas Dickinson, the Director of Production at Bioware. Check it out.

Many gamer have been asking about Star Wars: The Old Republic endgame. Many MMOs are defined by the quality, and dare we say, size of the raids. If we were to base this on the trailer just released from GameTrailers, we will not be disappointed.
The Eternity Vault is a prison far below the surface of Belsavis. Both the Empire and Republic are interested in what lies at the bottom. The Republic wants to keep what's down there trapped for eternity. The Empire wants to possibly use the inhabitants for its own malicious schemes. Whatever lies at the bottom, it is going a large team of people to get to it -- about 16 if you count the number in the video.
Take a look at the video after the break and tell us what you think. Will you use this in your roleplay? Or maybe it will be something you do for fun. Let us know in the comments below.

PAX East 2011 was a great and appetising event for fans of The Old Republic, where new details and features of BioWare's upcoming game came by the truckloads. No idea what we're talking about? Check out our official PAX East 2011 discussion thread where all the goodies from the event have been compiled in to one place. Contrary to the customary weekly Friday update that BioWare produces, the development team have been kind of enough to supply the hungry TOR critters with a mid-week update. The update consists of a highlights video of the PAX East 2011 event, depicting the endless hordes of humans waiting to get their hands on the the Taral V Flashpoint, some of the stage shows, and what some of the fans had to say about the event. For those who were unable to attend the event, you can now get a glimpse of the event in the short video. You can view BioWare's official update here.

Armor Progression,  Author: Sterling,  BioWare,  EA,  Electronic Arts,  Jedi,  LucasArts,  Star Wars,  Star Wars The Old Republic,  SWTOR,  The Old Republic,  TOR,  Trialer,  Video

It's that time again folks -- Friday. That means daydreaming through half your classes, slacking off after lunch at the office and planning your shenanigans for the weekend. It also means it's time for BioWare to drop more tidbits from The Old Republic on our heads, and this week it's a doozy. About a year ago, BioWare gifted us with a video detailing examples of armor progression for the Bounty Hunter class. Today, they return to that concept with a trailer showing off possible armor for the Jedi Knight and his advanced classes -- the Guardian and Sentinel. While the Guardian seems to be a fan of heavier and bulkier armor, perhaps befitting his tank status, the Sentinel prefers lighter gear as he kimbo-slices through his enemies. Near the end we're treated to a view of the style of choreographed combat we expect to see every day in The Old Republic as the Sentinel goes all out against a Sith war party. Catch the full video after the cut.
