"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”
― Plato

Assumption: most of us are here because we're fans of Star Wars. The story and its characters sucks us in and here we find an escape from reality as we immerse ourselves into a rich and vivid virtual reality of the universe we've grown to love.

But what good is that universe if it lacks one thing that gives it life, gives it meaning? Without its music, Star Wars wouldn't be the same. The music in the Star Wars films and games gives it life and soul. It engages our emotions.

In roleplay, it is no different. Though we may roleplay in silence most of the time (except for that not-so-awesome cantina music), imagine the difference it would make to hear the sounds of John Williams as you begin to incite your enemy, as you draw your weapon and start an all-out cantina brawl with countless Treeks flinging stones across the room. Though this might sound a little silly (but super fun), music enhances the feel of that scene tenfold.

In today's Friday Focus, we'd like to know how imperative the music of Star Wars is to your gaming, your roleplaying and your storytelling, both solo and with friends. Does it change your mood? Does it affect the way you feel? I have no doubt it does, but pop your thoughts into the comments section below!

The Snowies. Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure Plato did not say that... In other matters, more relevant to the article, music...

We are very curious beings. We're always left wondering why events turned out the way they did, and we're curious about what events may be around the corner. The same is for The Old Republic. Why must Treek be so damn cool? Why won't the Emperor just die already? Should I spend my life's savings on that Revan mask? These are the hard questions that bug us.

Some time ago, we hosted a column that granted hints and ideas of what the expect each week. With Kashira as its creator and author, Holoscopes provided our readers and The Old Republic's roleplayers with a Star Wars-esque horoscopes column.

Kashira produced over thirty weeks worth of predictions, and our roleplayers reported that some of Kashira's insights proved true for their in-game endeavors!

This week, we reflect on this once-great column that our readers enjoyed immensely. To view all entries of Holoscopes, go here

Kashira Was a pleasure to write them!

It is no secret that Czerka Corporation is the largest neutral (or so they claim) organisation in the universe of The Old Republic. Their power and financial means seem endless, and with Game Update 2.3 hitting your hard drives, they may just reach total virtual-and-real world domination.

The proverbial reality is—in our case, being a virtual reality—you either hate or love Czerka. And where ever you happen to stand on that hate-or-love scale, you're going to find yourself directly affected by what they've brought with them in Game Update 2.3 Am I hinting at something? Yes. Yes I am. WE HAVE TAUNTAUN MOUNTS!

Game Update 2.3 brings with it a whole bunch of goodies, including the ability the earn your own tauntaun mount! Anybody who says that ain't darn cool should uppercut themselves. For everyone else who is racing out to earn one, be nice and don't slice up its guts if you find yourself stranded on Hoth and need a place to sleep.

There are plenty of other new additions to the game, including Czerka-themed Flashpoints, a new Ewok companion, graphical upgrades, and an upcoming Bounty Contract Week!

For now, continue below and view the Game Update 2.3 Flashpoint trailer! Happy hunting!
