Members of SWTOR-RP come in many shapes and sizes, and no, I'm not making reference to physicality. Our members comprise of casual users who log in from time to time; forum-dwellers whose main activity is lurking about and posting on the forums; creative-critters who create wiki articles and journal and story entries; and finally we have the lurker. The latter group can be compared to a night owl: they browse the forums and articles on the front page, though they hardly ever make themselves known.
One such individual who falls into the "lurker" category is Sorrik. As a Bounty Hunter on the roleplaying server Lord Ieldis and a member of SWTOR-RP, Sorrik is looking to learn the ways of RP by finding like-minded players and possibly a guild to join. However, if your vocabulary consists only of words such as GTFO, LMFAO, and n00b, look no further. Your kind is not wanted here. You're either too young to understand the concepts of RP and probably don't know what I mean when I say, "You are what you eat," or you just never hit puberty and still think that the Easter Bunny actually lays its eggs. For the rest of you (and I hope by that I mean all of you), continue reading as we get to know Sorrik in this Member Spotlight.

The power of fine dining has brought the end to many horrors. Soldiers have thrown aside their arms to have a savory meal and a thirst quenching drink. Sith and Jedi suddenly find themselves pulling credit chits out of their robes instead of their lightsabers. Many a dinner party has been had in the past where treaties were signed, trade franchises created, or new governments who wish fair treatment to their constituents suddenly sprouted out of tyranny. Sonfax's Port Nesh Diner threatens to become one of these places as it sits upon the precipice of immortality. Originally a standard diner inside of a spaceport on the blue collar world of Corellia, it seems that the proprietor of the establishment has moved up in the galaxy since closing that first location only a few weeks ago. The new location on the relatively unknown, isolationist world of Voss comes with a few hang-ups. Diplomatic or trade passes to the planet are rare, but easily attainable if one does not mind the 180 basic standard day waiting period for travel. While it is unsure how the self-made Twi'lek man managed to get his hands on the lease to a Voss establishment, the only thing that matters is the food and how darn good it is!

BLASTech is back after a short hiatus, ready to bring you all the knowledge you can handle on tech around the galaxy! We use it every day; you probably take it for granted, that slick Lhosan speeder or the (somewhat) reliable taxi vessels on Nar Shaddaa. They all have one thing in common besides the ability to get you where you need to go, and even then they need repulsors. These pieces of equipment are created in an incredible way that many do not appreciated, making it one of the most taken for granted pieces of equipment. It all begins with a black hole—those terrifying enigmas in the galaxy that can decimate entire systems—but ingenious scientists have been able to create massive unmanned refineries that harness the properties of black holes to create repulsors. These lifts can be assembled in arrays, clusters, or vanes studded with micro-coils of gravity 'knots' to fulfill the need of the situation. After the repulsor has been fully assembled, it is ready to be mounted in the previously mentioned patterns. But how does it work? The repulsor creates anti-gravity from subnuclear "knots" of space-time. From here on out, it is a very in-depth science that would frankly bore most of our readers, but rest assured there are plenty of scientific journals out there on the topic.
Some technology is not even possible without these knots of anti gravity; large vessels that land planet side are too heavy to be supported on their legs without support by a repulsor array. Furthermore, it is used in space with more powerful assemblies giving the ability to slowly navigate asteroid fields and use repulsors to move asteroids and safely move through the field. The power of black holes can even be harnessed to form a powerful weapon capable of destroying anything from capital ships to small craft!
Thanks for tuning into BLASTech HoloZine: your one stop for all things tech! This is Jace Dreden, signing out.

The hours went by slowly as the evening wore on, as the first annual "Mister and Miss Nar Shaddaa" pageant unfolded in the grimy and rather stark surroundings of the location known simply as the Blood Factory. Fourteen hopeful contestants gathered in the space as seven judges decided who was the fairest of them all. Any contest on Nar Shaddaa isn't complete without accusations of foul play, bribery, or other suspicious possibilities. Some questions arose for those that attended the pageant, and speculation apparently ran rife when the results were finally announced after a rather lengthy deliberation process as the host, Vaanthe, and a Jawa or two worked over the results of the judges' accumulated votes. The winners were announced with Franky Fourfingers, a known Huttball player, being crowned as Mister Nar Shaddaa, and Ali’anjya Elyse Fayn as Miss Nar Shaddaa. The runners up were Vertigus Abd'Zoth, apparently known for his prolific supply of offspring, and Briah Silvertongue. The two newly crowned beauty 'king and queen' will reign for a year, with the two others stepping in if something should happen to the winners.

Welcome to another edition of the SWTOR-RP Month In Review, where we sit back beneath the twin suns of Tatooine and reflect upon the articles that have passed through the front page. The month of March holds significant meaning to a number of staff—including myself—as we were fortunate enough to receive one-on-one time with a number of key developers from BioWare.
Gabe Amatangelo visited Sydney, Australia, for the official launch of The Old Republic in the Oceanic region. Additionally, Sebaya ventured off to the first ever Guild Summit in Austin, Texas. More on that later.
Continue reading below as we review some of the work of our Reporters during the month of March. We'll revisit some of the in-character articles, interviews, game updates, and some of the topics covered by our columnists.

A hunter hosting a 'beauty' contest? Is this as crazy an idea as you have ever heard or what? No, readers, you heard it right when the first annual "Mister and Miss Nar Shaddaa " Beauty Pageant was announced over the planet. Hosted by Vaanthe, known for running security at the Yocola Tonka when it was open, as well as refereeing at the Blood Factory, this contest allegedly was begun as a bet with a Gamorrean, Nautolan, Human, Twi'lek, and others of some unsavory reputation over a game of dice. Speculation over what was the true standard for beauty on the grimy yet brightly colored world of Nar Shaddaa sparked this idea, and so it is really happening. Will the contestants be as gaudy as the city's lights and glamour, or is it all really more than skin deep in the 'Vertical City'? That's the question to ask as fourteen hopeful men and women go up for their chance to be voted Mister and Miss Nar Shaddaa for the duration of a year. The deal includes the title to be held by the winner of either title as well as possibilities and deals to be made for future endorsements to some local businesses, public appearance opportunities, and other deals. It is rumored that a Hutt or two might even want to meet some of these contestants personally. Blessing or curse for that one? We value our lives so we won't speculate publicly!

As an independent organisation, the Hutt Cartel runs its operations on worlds which have seceded from the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire's control. The Cartel is a syndicate of a number of different Hutt clans spread throughout worlds which they've laid claim to, including their homeworld of Hutta, and the crown jewel of the underworld: Nar Shaddaa.
Though the Hutt Cartel may be a chain of clan alliances, their access to an almost unlimited supply of resources and credits causes rifts and feuds which, once settled, leaves traces of blood, deception, and greed splattered across the Hutt-controlled worlds.
Turf wars and personal vendettas are no small feat of the Hutt Cartel. The streets of Nar Shaddaa and Hutta are filled with gangsters and mobsters who are subject to territorial engagements, assassination attempts, theft, and black market deals.
Sources have revealed that the rivalry between Nem'ro the Hutt and Fa'athra the Hutt are evidently to blame for the bloodshed which, still to this day, takes place in the streets of Hutta.
Citizens are encouraged to avoid any business dealings on Hutta which is reportedly the heart of an ongoing battle for power and control.

Community sites are driven to success by one major contributing factor. You have three guesses. No, it is not hiring a group of Jawas to run the site. And no, it is not by employing an army of Gungan soldiers as forum moderators—though that could be fun, right? Did you say "member support and growth?" Ding ding ding! We have a winner folks!
SWTOR-RP has been blessed with a supportive community and ever-growing member numbers. Each day, players from The Old Republic seek a virtual home away from home in this hub for roleplayers, connecting with others to form new relationships, create new stories, and to make their roleplaying and gaming experience as pleasant and adventurous as possible.
Without the support from our members, we'd flutter into a pointless non-existence. And to express our gratitude, members are randomly chosen to participate in the member-alternative to the Guild and Staff Spotlight feature: the SWTOR-RP Member Spotlight! To qualify, just be sure to remain active on the site, and watch your private message box.
This time around, Tiali takes to the stage with stories of her roleplaying endeavours as an information broker in The Old Republic. What does it take to buy and sell information on other player characters? Let's find out!

Welcome back to another issue of The Darker Side of Life, the roleplay column for The Old Republic where we take a look at the issues concerning roleplayers, and try to find solutions for them. In this week's issue, we're tackling stealth and how it affects roleplay, specifically spying and information gathering. Spying can be a core part of an RP community, with different groups trying to figure out what each other is doing. There are all sorts of ways to gather information, from bribery, to torture, even just being a fly on the wall and listening in. The real question is, what happens if that fly on the wall has stealth abilities and can't be seen by the other players, is it still legitimate?
As always, I've collected your responses from the thread and worked them into this article where we're going to try and come up with some ways to make stealth RP work, and make it fun for everyone. Sitting cloaked in a meeting watching your enemies plot may be exciting from an adrenaline rush for the first minute or two, but without any interaction it gets boring. After all, if they can't see you, there's a zero percent chance of being discovered, and that's also why many players consider it unfair. Join me as we dive into the issue head first and try to settle the debate over whether stealth powers are acceptable to use in roleplay.

How often do you read through the articles on the front page of SWTOR-RP? Do you pay attention to the minor details, including the article tags and external links? How about the author? Over the last few months, the staff at SWTOR-RP have been working to bring The Old Republic's stories to life, here on our very own front page. Though it may not be overly obvious, certain aspects of our in-character articles may cause the light bulbs in your heads to light up with a "ding!"
One particular Reporter has brought you the planetary stories from Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa, as well as publishing the endeavours of a man in touch with the galaxy's fauna. He has worked with the site for quite some time, and we hope to see his Republic HoloNet Story reports for many days to come.
Read on to discover that there's more to writing an in-character article than simply translating cutscenes into words, starring SWTOR-RP Reporter, Norri.
