The Old Republic Roleplay|Site Info

Hello again everyone. It's time for another Guild Spotlight! This month I sat down with Lord Adraas' Hydian Expedition Outfit (HEO) and their leader Ringo Orlan. The HEO is a semi-independent Republic organization that does the Republic's dirty work while allowing it to officially have deniability. It almost sounds like Mission: Impossible's IMF to me.

Republic RP is suffering a disadvantage of numbers recently. Every server has seen shrinking populations as the newness of The Old Republic has worn off, and other big MMO titles are launching. The Republic has always been the victim of a faction imbalance, so we've been trying to highlight them recently to help turn that around. If you are interested in a Guild Spotlight of your own, you can contact myself of Ganden to officially request one. For now though, read on to see what Ringo has to say about the Hydian Expedition Outfit!
DCB HEO, cause someone's got to haul out the trash ^^. Love this guild, a more easy going and receptive group of fun loving ...
Ganden
DH, if you'd like to see your guild or another from Ebon Hawk spotlighted, send myself or Sebaya Keto a PM so we can add ...
Darth_Haos It's great to see such proud guilds on Lord Adraas. Now if only we can get some on Ebon Hawk.....

It's time again for another of SWTOR-RP's monthly Guild Spotlight series! For this month, I sat down with a few officers of Shien's The Jade Company. As our first spotlight on the Shien server, it's a great look into the fledgling roleplay community there. In addition, this is a bit late. It's because our original interview time got interrupted when I was at the Guild Summit. One of the things I learned there was that there are many more Imperial than Republic players, and Republic-side roleplay is struggling on almost every server. Shien seems to be doing fine though, and as you'll see in this article, they've got one hell of a guild leading the way and helping to establish storylines and roleplay on their server for Republic players.

The Jade Company is a Republic-aligned paramilitary organization that takes both Jedi and non-Force Sensitives. One of their officers, Sebastian Kyle, also works on SWTOR-RP's staff as one of our Wiki Editors, and is responsible for most of the formatting on the wiki, as well as the page creators that make getting started easy. If you're on the Shien server, or considering moving to look for Republic roleplay, The Jade Company certainly seems dedicated to the community, and as you'll read in a moment, committed to good storytelling as well.
Flux Yay for Jade Company! Always good to see people thriving on Shien for RP.
SurfXombie If you want big group role play with a great bunch of people that's adding dimension and colour to the Shien server you ...
Qynn Kel'en Love the people in this guild. Best. evah.

It's time for our February Guild Spotlight. This week we hunted down some Republic soldiers to talk to. I sat down with Jerhal of the 7th Infantry Battalion on Lord Adraas to get his take on his guild and military roleplay as well. Military RP has always been a large niche in Star Wars games. In fact, several of the Seventh's officers roleplayed Stormtroopers in Star Wars: Galaxies. Newer Star Wars stories paint the clones, and now Troopers as heroes, soldiers who use their courage and teamwork to overcome foes instead of relying on the Force.

This is just one example of how some players are adapting that legacy to our new game. Each new opportunity brings new challenges. TOR has static planets with instanced zones, and no player cities; a vast difference from what Stormtrooper veterans were used to. How can a military RP guild cope with that, and still RP combat patrols? Do they rely on PvP? If the timeline changes as the story progresses, how do they use the lower level planets? I've discussed their patrols on Ord Mantell, and plans to move on through the planets as time go on in The Darker Side of Life before.

In this article he talks about his guild, but also gives lessons for new and old military roleplayers alike. Soldiers have always been a part of Star Wars lore, and though their role in The Old Republic is very different from the old trilogy, there is still room for the common man or woman to stand up and fight for their beliefs. Join me as we take a look at the 7th Infantry Battalion and their roleplay. And remember, if you want a Guild Spotlight for your own guild, all you have to do is send me a PM to sign up. Do it quickly though as space is limited!
Caffran Congrats on the spotlight, Jerhal! Carry the banner of the Infantry high, and show those Imperials what for! It's a pity ...
Krytikal JERHAL!! I LOVE YOU! Signed: Vai'ren
Zentoyo I've really enjoyed the RP I've had with 7th members. From the way they dress, how they act, where they hang out is ver ...

Hello everyone. It's time for our January Guild Spotlight! This time I sat down with Berdrin Asteilard of The Ubiqtorate, located on The Progenitor server. For all you EU roleplayers out there, we're finally moving on to cover some of your guilds. The Ubiqtorate is an Intelligence guild with a twist. As you'll see in the interview, there is more to them than just gathering information and hunting down enemies of the state. Relations between the so called "normal" Imperials and the Sith are always a topic of great discussion, and The Ubiqtorate seems to have a unique way of going about their secretive work. Hopefully you'll find them as fascinating as I did.

Each month we cover a different guild from the SWTOR-RP community which encompasses guilds on all of The Old Republic's RP servers. Remember to send myself or Ganden a PM if you're interested in securing a Guild Spotlight for your guild! Before you do though, read on to find out what Berdrin had to say about his guild, The Ubiqtorate!
Saizek This is a great guild, and I am in no way biased! ...
Sidre Good article! I like seeing you guys around. Hopefully looking forward to some RP in the future.
Ganden
Very intriguing. This guild is up there with my favourites, solely from reading this interview!

Hello everyone! It's time for our December Guild Spotlight! With the game now released, we're all anxiously searching for RP, and many are wandering around looking for guilds to help them find that RP. This month I sat down with Voc'khan and Kaemrys of The Shattered Sun to get a look inside their guild and find out what makes them tick. For those of you who may be wondering, this month's guild is on Lord Adraas, but going forward we'll be attempting to spread out the spotlights and cover guilds from all of the RP servers.

Shattered Sun certainly seems interesting, if maybe a little too secretive. I had to beat them up a bit to get answers, and there's a lot left shrouded in mystery. I guess we'll have to stick to RPing with them to find out what they're hiding. I guess it's to be expected of a guild RPing the Imperial Inquisition though. Read on and find out what I was able to get out of them, and check in with them if you're interested in joining! You can also send me a PM if you want a spotlight for your own guild. Space is filling up fast!
Kida LEVEL HARDERRRRR *Shinyflailing* Also, -everybody- loves parfaits. Ain't nobody hate no parfait. Thanks again for this, ...
Nolaa Awesome spotlight! Secrets, inquisition, mysteries, definitely worth peaking at.
Pyra Wunderbar! A great interview on a great guild. Much love to Voc'khan, Kaemrys and the rest of the Shattered Sun crew. ...

It's time again for another Guild Spotlight! In the spirit of this being Sith Week here on SWTOR-RP, I sat down with AstralEcho of The Dark Star Society to talk to him about what makes an evil guild tick. Do you like villains lurking in the shadows and pulling the strings? This might be the guild for you then. In addition to his guild, AstralEcho and I also discuss the Galactic War Coalition, his plan for bringing a bit of PvP to RP-PvE servers, so as to allow RP-PvPers to live there as part of a larger server community. To find out more about that though, you'll have to check out his page or contact him directly. For now, we're going to take a look inside the secretive Dark Star Society. I couldn't get him to give up all his secrets, so read up and join me in trying to pry the rest out of him! Who knows what he's really up to? I'm not sure but it certainly looks like whatever it is, it will be some excellent RP for those taking part in it!
Web One thing I have noticed among my time within the Dark Star Society is the professionalism and motivation of the members ...
Sweet Spirit The atmosphere here in the Dark Star Society is very friendly and even enthralling, and they really know how to accommod ...

Hello everyone! It's time for our first November Guild Spotlight! Since we've seen so much discussion on Troopers and Jedi recently, I sat down with Antia Oato of the 96th Reapers Regiment to tell us how her guild makes it work. Undoubtedly there will be many different ways of solving the problem, but the 96th is on the rise, so they must be doing something right. Check out what Antia has to say on it, and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.

Military guilds are going to be a staple of RP in The Old Republic. Many of the players gravitating towards them are veterans of similar Stormtrooper guilds in Star Wars Galaxies, as is Antia of the 96th. It's going to be a jump from oppression to liberation, but much of the military structure derived from real world armies still applies. Jedi are the wild card, especially how to work them in. The Clone Wars series has Jedi Generals heroically leading troopers into battle, but does it fit The Old Republic? The Jedi have been disgraced, and while they are still heroes to many, will the Republic Military trust them? Read on to see what Antia and the 96th have to say!
JaminH All this does is make me sad that i've moved away from my Trooper RP. This all seems like an amazingly well organised RP ...
Alor That's my girl!
Aylira/Syna I'm glad you all enjoyed it. I was actually kinda worried about it. >_<

Hello everyone! It's time for our first of the new twice monthly Guild Spotlights! In the spirit of the recent announcement on RP-PvP servers, I sat down with Chikt and Leoren of Raven Cross, a RP-PvP guild that traces its history back to World of Warcraft. Now that we know for sure RP-PvP servers will exist, its really brought out the discussion of what the difference is and where people will go.

Raven Cross seems to be a great example of what a RP-PvP guild can accomplish in both categories. Hopefully this interview will shed light on the issue and give a picture of what RP-PvP really is and what the players who love it do for fun. If you're curious to see more, I've included one of their videos, but you can find even more on their YouTube account. You can also find more information on their website. So read on fellow roleplayers as we take a hands-on tour of Raven Cross to find out what makes them tick. Even if RP-PvP isn't for you, they offer a well thought out new perspective that might just change how you feel.

Darth Inanivis Well its good to finally see that someone other then myself from is here from Twisting Neither. You guys where a great ...
Baroness Peron I miss you guys. O_O

It is no secret that here at SWTOR-RP, we have a wealth of talent. Everyday our member numbers grow with roleplayers flocking to the site to get their characters and guilds for The Old Republic under the spotlight. The guild listing continually grows, as do the number of journal and story entries posted on our forums. Slowly, we're getting to learn the traits and personalities of the characters we'll be interacting with in BioWare's upcoming Star Wars MMO. Members from both sides of the war -- the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire -- are beginning to make acquaintances, and story arcs between players and their characters will inevitably flourish. The question stands though -- who are the people behind the characters?

Followers of SWTOR-RP will have familiarised themselves with our Guild Spotlights. Each month, we take a guild from our long list and toss them under the spotlight, conducting an interview with its leader and publishing the results on our front page for all the world to see. It is now time to extend the feature to our members. Introducing the SWTOR-RP Member Spotlights! Chosen at random, one of our members registered with the site will be given the opportunity to share their personal stories with the community, as well as explaining his or her motivations and ideas for the game. It is an opportunity for the staff of the site to appreciate our community and what the members of our site have to offer.

For the first couple of Member Spotlights, we'll be running a contest to decide on who will be chosen to kick start the new feature. If you're not aware of it, we have a Twitter and Facebook page for our site. To participate in the contest, head on over to our social pages and follow us for the chance to be chosen in our first Member Spotlights. A follower from one of our social sites will be chosen for the feature, so get yourselves on that list. Be sure to keep an eye out for our forum announcement with additional information. Hopefully, we'll see one of you under the spotlight soon!
Ganden
That's alright. We'll figure it out ...
Mishka Kalrook ... But then I would have to embrace the evil that is social media.
Kai Halcyon yes my contact info there is different then here i believe.

Hello everyone and welcome back to our most popular monthly segment, the Guild Spotlight! As you may know, each month we pick a guild listed here on SWTOR-RP to interview and present to our readers to help you get a better idea of what's out there. For this month, I sat down with Alor of Verde Ures Alii'Gaise to learn more about his Mandalorians and what they'll be up to in the RP world of The Old Republic. If you want to give your guild a chance to be in the spotlight, less us know in the Guild Spotlight thread! Before you go, be sure to open up the full article and learn all about Verde Ures Alii'Gaise.
Aylira/Syna I strong endorse Alor and his bunch. He's a good guy and has a lot of good ideas for his guild.
