Many quests in The Old Republic give dialogue options that allow the player to chose between accepting no credits for completing a mission, graciously accepting what is offered, or demanding more credits for whatever service was given. Thus, we all come to that decision of whether or not we should be the valiant, humble hero who accepts nothing for his service, the grateful worker who doesn't ask for credits but is happy to accept them if offered, or the greedy con artist who wants everything he can get. Thus, the topic for today's Force Reflection is: how does your character react when given a choice about the number of credits received for completing a quest?

Now, don't let this question get tangled up in the morality web, either. Just because a character is 'good' does not necessarily mean that he will turn down credits when offered. My own gunslinger Holland may be a good person deep down, and typically makes light side dialogue options, he is still careful to always make sure that a quest is going to pay him before he even sets out on it, and never turns down credits when they are offered. It has nothing to do with his moral sense, but is more a part of his character quirk of always looking out for his own well-being, and never turning down credits when they are offered because he never knows when he may get more having an unstable career.

Though demanding everything that a refugee family owns in return to bringing their lost daughter back may qualify as a reflection upon a character's moral fibre...

So when presented with the option, how does your character react? Do they always check first whether or not they are being paid, or are they willing to do quests simply because they want to help someone? Or is it entirely dependent upon the situation or the person on the other end of the conversation? Do you think this reflects upon your character's morality, or simply upon their personality?

Another week, another round of question and answer by the BioWare staff! As with the previous few editions of the Community Q&A, this week's centers around the immenent Game Update 1.2, which according to some of the talk coming out of PAX East this weekend may be coming out as soon as next week. While there's not too much in the way of roleplaying interest to talk about from this week's edition, I do have one clarification I personally got from David Bass yesterday. Legacy Unlocks will require a minimum level and either credits, or a special other unlock. For instance, you can unlock a race for all classes by obtaining a minimum legacy level and a character of that race at level 50 or  a fee of 1-2 million credits. Unfortunately, ship unlocks don't have a special way to earn them; you'll be paying 500,000 credits for a mailbox and a whopping 5 Million credits for a shipboard GTN. 

Anyways, onto the real meat. PvP gear will have its stats re-worked to favor expertise over traditional stats. This is to discourage people from using them in PvE content. The current commendations will be depreciated, so spend them now. In the future you'll be able to stack up to 2,000 Warzone Commendations. Reverse Engineering is also getting an overhaul and a tooltip to tell you the chances of getting a schematic, if any. You'll also get some character titles if you've been levelling on the Test Server. That's really it for this week, so tell us what you think now in the comments section!

Rich or poor, credits have to come from somewhere. When we're roleplaying in most cases, we don't usually think about where credits come from. Most people generally have an idea of how many credits their character has. Smugglers tend to be poor while an Alderaanian Nobleman might have a great deal. We could debate for hours how rich characters should be, or if you have to back that up with OOC credits. But I thought this morning it might be more fun to take a different spin on it. Regardless of how many credits your character has on average, how do they earn them in The Old Republic

My character Sebaya is fairly rich, but most of her money is tied up in business. She often has to look to other sources to fund some of her more expensive and sadistic hobbies. Currently, she's thinking about using her shipping assets to sell cheap spice through contacts on Nar Shaddaa. Since all corners have been cut to save on costs, there is the unfortunate possibility that any player's characters will suffer horrible side effects from use of the spice. Well, hopefully no one traces it back to her, but that's the risk of doing business!

Tell us about how your character earns their pay. Does your Bounty Hunter RP out jobs to keep their crew paid? Or do you keep moneymaking activities in the background? While we're at it, I've always wondered where exactly Jedi and Sith get their money from. Is it like a salary? Jedi can't exactly go burn and loot a planet for credits like a Sith could. See if you can answer that one as well. Also that picture is one of credits from Wookieepedia. I always wondered what exactly a credit chit would look like...
