A well rounded character likely won't be out fighting the way 24/7. Even the most hardened veterans need to cut loose sometimes. The Old Republic offers us a vast and exciting world that can also be a nice place for a character to kick back and relax, away from the front lines. Will your Jedi spend their free time in the library at the Temple? Or will your Smuggler be frequenting the seedy spice dens of Nar Shadaa?
Let us know what you have in mind! Social roleplay is one aspect of The Old Republic that we haven't seen much on yet. Despite that, many players are already setting up to create environments for it, like the Velvet Pearl. Even if you don't plan to spend much of your RP time on it, everyone likes to hang out on occasion, lets hear your ideas!

One of the most distinctive attributes of Star Wars: The Old Republic is the player starships. These class-unique mobile homes present many roleplay opportunities. You will be able to invite other players to join you on your ship not just your companions. This gives you a chance to have a private moment with other characters, for a romantic encounter or an evil brainstorming session. There are limitless possibilities with only your mind as the limit for what these ships can be used for.
How do you plan to use your ship for RP? Will you be sharing it in-character with other smugglers as part of a crew? Maybe you will use it as Bioware intended, just as your personal transport. Sound off and let us know what you think and what ideas you have cooking! Roleplay thrives on creativity. We have a brilliant bunch here, so let's see what you can come up with.

Hello again everyone, it's time again for our monthly Guild Spotlight! In this popular column, we've already brought you inside information on several up-and-coming RP guilds. This month, I sat down with the leader of the Mantell Syndicate, Baraslan, to get the scoop on his guild, and what makes them special. For more information you can check them out on the guild board here, or on their website.

Smuggling is a time honored tradition in the Star Wars universe. The iconic Millennium Falcon was a smuggling ship, and that business was what got Han Solo used as a decoration on Jabba's wall. In Star Wars: The Old Republic, smuggling is everywhere. In a warzone, supplies are scarce, and anyone that can deliver the goods can almost name her price. In fact, the smugglers that kept the Republic going during the Mandalorian Wars are still fresh in the galaxy's memory.
So, our question for today is, do you plan to participate in smuggling one way or another? That's not just for people of the Smuggler class, anyone can buy smuggled goods. How do you see it as affecting the overall culture and environment of roleplay in The Old Republic? What sort of goods would your character be willing to pay for? Anything can be smuggled, from spice to little geisha dolls!

This week the creators of Enjin have decided to honor our community by listing us as this week's Featured Friday. The Featured Friday is a weekly showcase on Enjin that highlights one outstanding community group a week. The reporter sat down with our Community Manager, Tziena, to try and get a better understanding of what makes us special and show us off to the rest of the growing Enjin community. If you've ever wanted a look inside the head of our fearless leader, this might be your best chance to get it!
As SWTOR-RP nears its first birthday, this is a good time to read the interview, and remind ourselves why we're here and what we're doing. After all, SWTOR-RP wasn't always a part of Enjin. For most of its life, it was a highly modified SMF forum. As our veteran members can tell you, we moved here for all the amazing bells and whistles, and haven't looked back since.
So take a look, tell your friends, and let us know how we've done over the past year. How we can continue to improve as we look forward to many great years to come?

Beep boop boop beep! Droids have always been a part of the Star Wars universe, from the comedic pairing of R2-D2 and C-3PO, to the meatbag hating HK-47. How they are portrayed has certainly changed. While both the trilogies and Star Wars: The Old Republic have humanoid and smaller utility droids, their appearances and characterizations differ. We've also seen them used as mindless automatons in the Clone Wars.
Question: Which do you prefer, meatbag? Do you prefer the more comic approach of the original series with R2-D2's heroic moments, or the antics of HK-47? From what we've seen, HK-47 will be an antagonist to players in The Old Republic. Are you looking forward to that, or do you prefer droids as companions? Either way, we're certain to see both types of droids in The Old Republic, but sound off now and let us know what you think about all the different aspects of droids!

Armor,  Author: Sebaya,  Author: Sebaya Keto,  BioWare,  EA,  Electronic Arts,  Force Reflection,  Jedi,  LucasArts,  Robes,  Roleplay,  Star Wars,  Star Wars The Old Republic,  SWTOR,  The Old Republic,  TOR
One of the most stark contrasts in more recent canon Jedi appearances, both in The Old Republic games and in the Clone Wars series, is that Jedi have taken to wearing armor -- either under their robes or as a whole outfit such as Anakin. This contrasts sharply with the conventional portrayal of Jedi such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and the traditional robes that many of us grew up associating with the Jedi Order.
As a person that grew up playing Dungeons and Dragons, my mind naturally associates armor with dexterity penalties, and a Jedi relies on speed much of the time, although I can see how they would want additional protection. Many have commented that the armor makes the Jedi appear more warlike and takes away from the wholesome monks original charm. Others have said it makes the Jedi more realistic, and helps bring the series into what a 21st century audience expects. What are your thoughts?

Drew Karpyshyn, the head writer of Knights of the Old Republic, has finally announced the title of his new novel; Revan. In an interview for The Old Republic's official website, he explains what we'll see from this upcoming book. Revan will be the story of the iconic character from the first Knights of the Old Republic game. In the interview, Karpyshyn lauds the chance to go into detail on the support characters from that game as well. Certainly many of us have grown to love them over the years, HK-47 has even become a meme in some circles.
The novel, Revan, will span both the KOTOR games, roughly five years, so we'll finally get to see what becomes of Revan, and what happens to the others in the time between the games. If you've been sitting around wandering how a broken Ebon Hawk ends up with the Jedi Exile, this might be what you're looking for.
It is certainly something every The Old Republic roleplayer should look into, as it promises to give deep and meaningful insight on the Old Republic universe from one of the writers that helped create it. Revan will be hitting the bookshelves and e-book devices in a few months, but until then, you can go over to the official site and read the entire interview.

Throughout the history of the Star Wars universe, the color of a lightsaber blade has been an important part of any force-sensitive character. From humble beginnings over thirty years ago, George Lucas decided to allow actors to choose their color. Now, each color has a significance and history to it. In The Old Republic universe, it is likely that a choice of color will be a very dear decision for characters, and one that becomes an integral part of their stories. There are over fifty accepted colors from pure white to solid black, and The Old Republic is likely to offer a wide variety of color choices.
Tell us, what color would your character choose? What are the reasons? Perhaps the choice forced on you character by necessity, such as the Sith synthesizing red crystals. How does it affect him?
