“I’ll be off then,” Joanne said then walked inside the ship to grab her gear.
As she left, Joni turned to the rest of them.
“Sidewinder and I will take point. Joanne will take six. Keep your eyes out for anymore Imperials but don’t have itchy trigger fingers. They could be our allies,” she said.
At that moment Joanne returned, armed to the teeth with her sniper rifle, blaster pistols, vibrodaggers, and who knows what else. The ramp rose after her as she stood with the rest of the squad.
“Joanne, you have six,” Joni said.
The Mandalorian responded with slapping in a fresh clip into the magazine of her sniper rifle and giving a slow nod. With that, Joni gave waved them forward to begin toward the tree line. The trees weren’t too thick but anything could be hiding in those trees. The forest was filled with eerie sounds as they went forward into through the shady forest. Anything could be waiting for them.
Seeing Will with his fusion cutter out, Penelope pulled out her work gloves from her back pocket and then went to a panel. She pressed a few buttons and then the sound of power shutting down echoed through the room.
“Don’t want to fry ourselves, do we?” she said with a smile as she brandished the hydrospanner she always kept on her person for times like these.
Penelope first inspected the right engine. After looking at some readouts and giving it a good look over, she came up with her assessment.
“This one isn’t too bad. Just need to fix some wiring to the main reactor and put in a few parts and she will be good as new,” she said.
Once she began inspecting the left engine however her normally cheery expression fell more and more into despair.
“Come take a look at this,” she said as she waved Will over.
Once he came she began pointing out the extent of the damage.
“This thing is a mess. We were just lucky the fusion reactor wasn’t damaged or else we would be atoms at the moment. The radiation shield is good too, thankfully. The wiring is in shambles, the power converter is damaged but fixable, and the coolant tank burst, leaking it everywhere,” she reported.
She leaned back out and put her hands on her hips.
“What needs to be done now is repair the coolant tank and the power converter. We could run the ship in space with the amount of coolant we have now but we couldn’t push the ship too much or else the engine will overheat and explode plus the power converter might burst from the effort. Luckily, our repulsor drives weren’t damage so we can still fly without problems in atmosphere,” she said, “To sum it up, we can fly but not in space.”
Penelope’s face scrunched a little as she thought of what to do next but it quickly came to her.
“You start cutting off the jagged parts of the coolant tank so we can make an easy patch. I’ll go look for the parts,” she concluded.
With that, she jogged out of the room and down the hall to search for the much needed parts.
